Bachelorette Time

“Be a pineapple: stand tall, wear a crown & stay sweet on the inside.” -anon

Hey guys!

Ok, so you saw the bridal shower, now I want you to see the bachelorette weekend getaway! I hope you can get more party ideas, whether it’s a birthday, bachelorette or just a fun weekend!

For my best friend’s bachelorette party, we went to the river! This is something we both love to do. I can’t tell you how much fun it was! Just see for yourself! Watch here.

Shout out to all the girls that helped me!! Ya’ll are the best.

Below are the darling details:

We rented a huge barn-dominium in New Braunfels, TX through airbnb. It was able to fit all 19 of us. As you could see on the video, it was incredible.

Decorations: most were bought from party city.

I bought this before & after sign on amazon! (After is on the back)

I used the same photo booth from the bridal shower, but flipped the curtain upside down for the light pink pattern. See it at the bridal shower here.

Each girl received a party bag. Inside was a gold bride tribe tattoo, a pineapple hair tie (Katelyn has a thing for pineapples lol), a personalized glass with the bride & groom’s name and wedding date on it, & a pink bride tribe koozie. Everything was found on etsy! There are TONS of great bachelorette goodies on there!

Friday was game night.

We stayed in and order LOTS of food (pizza, chik fil a nuggets, Olive Garden salad, fruit salad and lots of chips an salsa.) For dessert, we had mini petite-fours with K’s on them brought by one of the girls & we also had fun cookies made by another girl!

As for games, we played Groom Jeopardy. I asked the groom TONS of questions (hard & easy), divided them into categories, divided the girls up into teams and off we went! I asked a question and the groups had their “team leader,” raise a hand to answer. The group with the most points won!

This was SO fun to make. I bought everything at Hobby Lobby. 🙂

We also had Katelyn’s lingerie shower that night. She opened her gifts & we named each set something funny. At the end, we made her guess who gave her what. It was great lol

Saturday, we had a big breakfast & hit the river! The weather was PERFECT! After a few hours of floating, we went back to rest & ordered fajitas from a local Mexican restaurant.

That night we went to Gruene Hall & saw Dennis Quaid perform! Yes… Dennis Quaid sings. I didn’t know this either. He was super entertaining though lol.

You can’t see us but you can see Gruene!

We also gave Katelyn her scavenger hunt. 🙂

I googled and used pinterest for ideas, then I made my own. I found the paper and stickers all from Hobby Lobby. This was even more fun to make than the Jeopardy game! I covered up the things to do so our bride-to-be couldn’t see them yet… but it’s your typical bachelorette scavenger hunt. 🙂

We also did the popular “Kiss the Miss Goodbye,” frame. All the girls put on their favorite lipstick, kissed the frame and signed their name. A few days later, I used a sealer spray from Hobby Lobby to seal the lipstick before putting it back in the frame, along with a picture from that night. I gave it to her a few days later & she loved it! A perfect memory! I didn’t take a picture of the finished product, but it looked somewhat like this.

Overall, the weekend was a blast!! Love this girl soooo much & can’t wait for the wedding!  And now… to write my speech…  :))

Talk to you soon!

Love,

Caroline

Let’s party

“Because of you, I laugh a little harder, cry a little less, and smile a lot more.” Anon

Hope ya’ll had a good Mother’s day! I hope you enjoy this party planning post! So if you don’t know, my best friend is getting married (!!!!!!) & I had the honor of throwing her a bridal shower! If you’re throwing a party and want some ideas, read along! I hope I can help! …apparently I’m ‘hoping,’ a lot. lol

Now, party planning is something I really like to do, ESPECIALLY when it’s my best friend. I started planing months in advance, jotting down ideas and making lists of things to get, etc.  You guys… I was over the moon excited about this. I love this girl so much. This bridal shower had to be PERFECT. The theme in my head was glitter, pink, white and classy.  Needless to say, etsy & pinterest became my best friend.

Let’s start at the beginning, here are the invitations I sent out. I had the seller print them and mail them to me! They were perfect. Now here are pictures of the big day!

I saw this on pinterest and LOVED the idea. All I did was buy a flower bouquet at Michael’s, tulle & white ribbon. I wrapped the tulle around the bouquet then tied it all together with ribbon. Then, I tied a bow with more ribbon. This looked so pretty  from the street.

I told everyone to bring their favorite recipe on a note card for our bride & had them put it in this little pink box. I also had a little book in the back for the ladies to jot down words of wisdom for the bride. In the VERY back towards the right, you’ll see a tall, white flower vase. This is what everyone signed instead of a guess book. When it was over I put pink flowers in it for the bride to take home. Mr & Mrs stand and the photo frame were from Francesca’s. They had LOTS of fun wedding decor.
I rented round tables from a local rental place. I actually bought the polyester table cloths from here for around 4 bucks each! I googled a good length to get for the specific tables I was renting so they would hang at a good length I liked. I bought the center pieces in large from this etsy store! They’re beautiful and they do not shed glitter! I bought fake flowers from Michael’s to put in them.

The photo booth! Believe it or not, this is actually a shower curtain. It looked AMAZING in the background of the girls. For our bride’s bachelorette party I used the same curtain but flipped it upside down to change it up. I bought it on sale here. I bought the photo stand here for a great price!! I purchased the props on amazon. 🙂 They have lots!

These little glass flower stand center pieces, I made! All from the dollar store. The pink tulle on the chandelier is from Party City. The paper flowers on the windows in the back, I also made. Let me know if ya’ll would like tutorials on the flower center pieces and paper flowers!

This amazing cake was from Hummingbird Bakery. They’re absolutely amazing. The flat white cake stand was from Home Goods. Mr & Mrs stand was purchased at Francesca’s.
Juice bar! We had tea, water, a peach & raspberry moscato punch (recipe from pinterest) and of course, mimosas! My mom actually had all this glassware from collecting it over time. It was put to good use!
The plastic plates and food stands are all from Party City! They were perfect! We took mason jars, wrapped tulle around them and put the forks & knives in them!
We served a spinach & feta pastry we found at Sam’s in the frozen aisle. It was a hit! We also served waffles and chicken salad sandwiches. When I say we, I mean mom & I. 🙂 There were also wedding cookies and champagne soaked gummy bears!
Party Favors! I bought the template from etsy, cut it out and tied sparkly string from target around plastic bags & stuck the cookies inside.
These amazing wedding dress cookies were also from Hummingbird Bakery.

For games, we played three! Guess how many kisses are in the kiss jar, what did the groom say about his bride, & do they match (asked them both the same questions to see how many times their answers matched)! All games found on pinterest. 🙂 The winners won these little personalized wine glasses with the bride to be and groom’s name on them, as well as their wedding date with a saying, “Love, laughter & happily ever after.”

I also had everyone write their address on blank letter envelopes so the bride would already have their addresses on envelopes for thank you letters. She also received blank thank you letters to use from me.

I also bought a snap chat filter for the day! Snap chat has fun templates to use and you can personalize them. Just make sure you do it at least 48hrs in advance since it has to get approved. Google how to buy snap chat filters for events! It’s awesome.

So that’s all I can think of right now! I hope I didn’t forget anything… lol shout out to mom for helping me & letting me transform the house into a bridal shower wonderland! I hope ya’ll got some possible ideas! Let me know what ya think. Alrighty, talk to you soon!

Love,

C

Be Present

This is an entry from my journal I wrote a week ago.  Sometimes I don’t know who I’m writing to.  Some entries it seems like I’m talking to myself, sometimes to God, sometimes to other people.  I just write what comes to mind, it’s fun!  After some thought I wanted to share what I wrote on that day with you.

“Looking outside, I can’t get over how beautiful today is.  God is an amazing painter.  The colors are absolutely hypnotizing.  I had to just stop what I was doing just to take a moment and be…

One thing I love to do is watch the clouds move across the sky.  When’s the last time I did that?  Look at the sky.  I can’t think about tomorrow or yesterday.  Only today.  What you have, who you love, who loves you, where you are.  Don’t think about where you want to be.  Think about the now.  Be grateful.  Be happy.

Take a deep breath in.  Take time to appreciate your surroundings, the Earth & all its wonders.  Look at the colors in the sky for a moment.  Just simply, be.  Life’s too short to be so wrapped up in other things.  Will what you’re doing now matter as much once you’re gone?  Will it make a difference.  Are you doing it for a future that isn’t guaranteed?  Take some time & just be present.  Come back down to the now and smile.  Breathe.  Watch the clouds move.  Feel the wind.  Get out of your head & be present.”

I think I often forget that tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.  Often we’re all so focused on the future & it can be devastating missing the present.  Be enchanted.  Today won’t ever comeback.  Sometimes I would stop, take a breath and take in the now, but most of the time… I just didn’t.  I would go days w/o noticing a sunset or noticing the wind.  The little things.

Let the little things make you smile, like they’re meant to & don’t take one single breath for granted.

Finally, here is a snapshot of what stopped me in my place that day…

I hope today, you take it all in; everything.  Have an amazing day ya’ll!

Love,

Caroline

Words of Wisdom

IMG_2420
Photo taken & edited by: Samantha Rodriguez.  Thanks for giving me what I’ve always wanted… wings!

Hey sunshine!

OK, so today is all about quotes.  Now, these are not just ANY quotes, these specific quotes work magic.  Quotes are everything!  Many, voice how we feel or remind us of important things we forget.  Put them everywhere, in your house, by your nightstand, on your mirror, everywhere!

Say your favorite ones everyday!  Memorize them.  One of my English professors in college was constantly quoting Old English books!  Fascinating.  Quotes are magic & they do something to us.  I have over 10 taped to my bathroom mirror.  I switch them out but they usually have to do with things I’m struggling with.  I read them everyday.  I can’t tell you how much they help.  It gives you a dose of positivity.

I have this journal where I keep all my favorite quotes, lyrics, poems & my many thoughts on… well, everything.  So grab yourself a glass of wine & get ready to ponder the wonderfulness of words! Here are some of my all time favorite, magical quotes.  Enjoy!
