Red, white & blissful

“Like wildflowers; you must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.” – E.V.

Hey guys!

Hope you’re having a fantastic week! I have to say, I’m super excited for you to see this outfit! Summer is so fun to me because it’s FULL of color. I’m going to be doing a fun summer haul coming up so get excited!

Now, I actually didn’t intend for this to turn into a patriotic outfit but it just ended up happening. lol With that being said, if you’re already trying to think of an outfit for July 4th… I have a good one for ya 🙂

They have this top in a lot of different colors! I have the color kiss kiss red & I’m definitely thinking of grabbing the blue one.

THESE SHOES. If there is one thing you need… it’s the gladiator heels. Just guess where they’re from…….. wrong! lol TARGET. They have quickly become my favorite pair of summer heels. You’ll be seeing them again. Grab them while you can because they’re on clearance!!

I bought this bag at Nordstrom, I believe last year. It’s the perfect size & I really liked the color, plus it just seems indestructible! I found a gently used one on Tradesy.com, here. Tory Burch still makes this bag in black & brown, here. I REALLY like the brown one…

I’ve had these white jeans from Wet Seal for YEARSSSSSS. I’m definitely in the market for some new ones. I have my eye on these.

Find my earrings here! They’re perfect for summer!

I hope you saw something you like! Thank you so so much for reading! I always appreciate ya stopping by. Comment down below and tell me what you liked!

Talk to you soon!

Bachelorette Time

“Be a pineapple: stand tall, wear a crown & stay sweet on the inside.” -anon

Hey guys!

Ok, so you saw the bridal shower, now I want you to see the bachelorette weekend getaway! I hope you can get more party ideas, whether it’s a birthday, bachelorette or just a fun weekend!

For my best friend’s bachelorette party, we went to the river! This is something we both love to do. I can’t tell you how much fun it was! Just see for yourself! Watch here.

Shout out to all the girls that helped me!! Ya’ll are the best.

Below are the darling details:

We rented a huge barn-dominium in New Braunfels, TX through airbnb. It was able to fit all 19 of us. As you could see on the video, it was incredible.

Decorations: most were bought from party city.

I bought this before & after sign on amazon! (After is on the back)

I used the same photo booth from the bridal shower, but flipped the curtain upside down for the light pink pattern. See it at the bridal shower here.

Each girl received a party bag. Inside was a gold bride tribe tattoo, a pineapple hair tie (Katelyn has a thing for pineapples lol), a personalized glass with the bride & groom’s name and wedding date on it, & a pink bride tribe koozie. Everything was found on etsy! There are TONS of great bachelorette goodies on there!

Friday was game night.

We stayed in and order LOTS of food (pizza, chik fil a nuggets, Olive Garden salad, fruit salad and lots of chips an salsa.) For dessert, we had mini petite-fours with K’s on them brought by one of the girls & we also had fun cookies made by another girl!

As for games, we played Groom Jeopardy. I asked the groom TONS of questions (hard & easy), divided them into categories, divided the girls up into teams and off we went! I asked a question and the groups had their “team leader,” raise a hand to answer. The group with the most points won!

This was SO fun to make. I bought everything at Hobby Lobby. 🙂

We also had Katelyn’s lingerie shower that night. She opened her gifts & we named each set something funny. At the end, we made her guess who gave her what. It was great lol

Saturday, we had a big breakfast & hit the river! The weather was PERFECT! After a few hours of floating, we went back to rest & ordered fajitas from a local Mexican restaurant.

That night we went to Gruene Hall & saw Dennis Quaid perform! Yes… Dennis Quaid sings. I didn’t know this either. He was super entertaining though lol.

You can’t see us but you can see Gruene!

We also gave Katelyn her scavenger hunt. 🙂

I googled and used pinterest for ideas, then I made my own. I found the paper and stickers all from Hobby Lobby. This was even more fun to make than the Jeopardy game! I covered up the things to do so our bride-to-be couldn’t see them yet… but it’s your typical bachelorette scavenger hunt. 🙂

We also did the popular “Kiss the Miss Goodbye,” frame. All the girls put on their favorite lipstick, kissed the frame and signed their name. A few days later, I used a sealer spray from Hobby Lobby to seal the lipstick before putting it back in the frame, along with a picture from that night. I gave it to her a few days later & she loved it! A perfect memory! I didn’t take a picture of the finished product, but it looked somewhat like this.

Overall, the weekend was a blast!! Love this girl soooo much & can’t wait for the wedding!  And now… to write my speech…  :))

Talk to you soon!

Love,

Caroline

Let’s party

“Because of you, I laugh a little harder, cry a little less, and smile a lot more.” Anon

Hope ya’ll had a good Mother’s day! I hope you enjoy this party planning post! So if you don’t know, my best friend is getting married (!!!!!!) & I had the honor of throwing her a bridal shower! If you’re throwing a party and want some ideas, read along! I hope I can help! …apparently I’m ‘hoping,’ a lot. lol

Now, party planning is something I really like to do, ESPECIALLY when it’s my best friend. I started planing months in advance, jotting down ideas and making lists of things to get, etc.  You guys… I was over the moon excited about this. I love this girl so much. This bridal shower had to be PERFECT. The theme in my head was glitter, pink, white and classy.  Needless to say, etsy & pinterest became my best friend.

Let’s start at the beginning, here are the invitations I sent out. I had the seller print them and mail them to me! They were perfect. Now here are pictures of the big day!

I saw this on pinterest and LOVED the idea. All I did was buy a flower bouquet at Michael’s, tulle & white ribbon. I wrapped the tulle around the bouquet then tied it all together with ribbon. Then, I tied a bow with more ribbon. This looked so pretty  from the street.

I told everyone to bring their favorite recipe on a note card for our bride & had them put it in this little pink box. I also had a little book in the back for the ladies to jot down words of wisdom for the bride. In the VERY back towards the right, you’ll see a tall, white flower vase. This is what everyone signed instead of a guess book. When it was over I put pink flowers in it for the bride to take home. Mr & Mrs stand and the photo frame were from Francesca’s. They had LOTS of fun wedding decor.
I rented round tables from a local rental place. I actually bought the polyester table cloths from here for around 4 bucks each! I googled a good length to get for the specific tables I was renting so they would hang at a good length I liked. I bought the center pieces in large from this etsy store! They’re beautiful and they do not shed glitter! I bought fake flowers from Michael’s to put in them.

The photo booth! Believe it or not, this is actually a shower curtain. It looked AMAZING in the background of the girls. For our bride’s bachelorette party I used the same curtain but flipped it upside down to change it up. I bought it on sale here. I bought the photo stand here for a great price!! I purchased the props on amazon. 🙂 They have lots!

These little glass flower stand center pieces, I made! All from the dollar store. The pink tulle on the chandelier is from Party City. The paper flowers on the windows in the back, I also made. Let me know if ya’ll would like tutorials on the flower center pieces and paper flowers!

This amazing cake was from Hummingbird Bakery. They’re absolutely amazing. The flat white cake stand was from Home Goods. Mr & Mrs stand was purchased at Francesca’s.
Juice bar! We had tea, water, a peach & raspberry moscato punch (recipe from pinterest) and of course, mimosas! My mom actually had all this glassware from collecting it over time. It was put to good use!
The plastic plates and food stands are all from Party City! They were perfect! We took mason jars, wrapped tulle around them and put the forks & knives in them!
We served a spinach & feta pastry we found at Sam’s in the frozen aisle. It was a hit! We also served waffles and chicken salad sandwiches. When I say we, I mean mom & I. 🙂 There were also wedding cookies and champagne soaked gummy bears!
Party Favors! I bought the template from etsy, cut it out and tied sparkly string from target around plastic bags & stuck the cookies inside.
These amazing wedding dress cookies were also from Hummingbird Bakery.

For games, we played three! Guess how many kisses are in the kiss jar, what did the groom say about his bride, & do they match (asked them both the same questions to see how many times their answers matched)! All games found on pinterest. 🙂 The winners won these little personalized wine glasses with the bride to be and groom’s name on them, as well as their wedding date with a saying, “Love, laughter & happily ever after.”

I also had everyone write their address on blank letter envelopes so the bride would already have their addresses on envelopes for thank you letters. She also received blank thank you letters to use from me.

I also bought a snap chat filter for the day! Snap chat has fun templates to use and you can personalize them. Just make sure you do it at least 48hrs in advance since it has to get approved. Google how to buy snap chat filters for events! It’s awesome.

So that’s all I can think of right now! I hope I didn’t forget anything… lol shout out to mom for helping me & letting me transform the house into a bridal shower wonderland! I hope ya’ll got some possible ideas! Let me know what ya think. Alrighty, talk to you soon!

Love,

C

A sky blue dream

“Anyone can find the dirt in someone. Be the one who finds the gold.” -Prov. 11:27

Happy Easter you guys!

I hope you’re having a wonderful evening. I had the best day filled with food, Easter egg hunts (Andy found 30 dollars), loteria bingo (I won!) & lots of family time! I wish every Sunday could be like this.

Now, let’s get to one of my fun spring dresses! Say hello to my new favorite dress.

TaDa!

This dress is too cute! I recently wore it to a wedding and lots of people wanted to know where it was from. This dress could be worn to so many different occasions. To me, it’s such a happy dress!  It also comes in different colors. The pink one is absolutely adorable.

Find the dress here!

I hope you have a fantastic evening! I’m off to go watch the Houston Rockets with Andy’s fam! I’ll talk to you very soon! 🙂

Until next time,

Spring has sprung!

“April showers bring May flowers!”

Feel free to skip all this jibber jabber & scroll to the first picture you see to get right to my first spring outfit of the season!

Now, let’s catch up…

First of all, who doesn’t love spring?!  Sunshine, beautiful flowers, bright colors and Easter! I don’t know about you but I’ve been so ready for spring.  So many things are going to be happening!

Where to start!  I’m throwing my best friend a bridal shower this month and I’ve been a busy busy bee planning that.  I absolutely LOVE planning things like this so I’m excited to see it all come together.  I’ll probably do a little post on it and show you some fun pictures!

I’m also going to Spain in a few months to visit my little brother!!!!  He’ll be studying abroad so I’m coming up with a fun series for that trip.  I’m thinking about vlogging my trip and posting it to share with my family & you, my friends!  We shall seeeee.  You have no idea how excited I am about this!  I’ve never traveled internationally.  If you have any advice please share!

I’m also arranging my best friend’s bachelorette river trip for next month!  That’ll be so fun! I’m thinking of vlogging that too.

If I’m not planning those things, you can find me buried in books.  Once we hit 2017 I started a reading challenge on GoodReads.  My goal, to read 50 books this year.  I’m going on 21 this weekend!  Andy thinks I should raise it to 90 but I’m not so sure about that… if I did that, my life would consist of just pages and stories, but then again, that doesn’t sound so bad to me 🙂  Someone somewhere once said, “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, the man who never reads lives only one.” I feel like I’ve lived so many lives already!  What’s another thousand? lol

Dakota wanted some attention 🙂

I’ve been loving those silky tops from express! I have this top in 4 different colors… I love the look of them with shorts or jeans. Classy on top & casual on the bottom. <3

Top  (On sale right now! Go forth!)

Shorts  (I’m wearing old shorts from target. This is a similar pair that I really like!)

Heels  (These heels are amazing; very comfortable! Just wore them to a casual backyard wedding and they did wonderfully!)

One of my favorite things about spring, besides everything I mentioned above lol… are the spring dresses! I can’t wait for you to see the ones I picked up!

Until next week,

C

Day Dream

“Would you like an adventure now or would you like to have your tea first?” -Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie

Happy Holidays!!

Wow, it has been a hot minute since I’ve posted. Once school ended for winter break, I’ve just been buried in books! Free time = reading time.  There is always a book in my purse; it’s like old times! I might start writing book reviews because I’m talking about them non stop to people who probably don’t care. Oops! 🙂 I’m a sucker for a good book. If you’re a bookworm like me, I have a GoodReads account! Find me! I put my profile name below so we can connect! See what I’m reading & vise versa! 🙂

Ok, on to the good stuff! For some reason this outfit reminds me of an outfit from the first Stars Movie lol Maybe it’s the colors! I love Star Wars.

Ok anyway, I’m linking everything below. Now, I couldn’t find a few things online but I know they’re in the stores, so just know that! With all these sales, things are just constantly disappearing! Gotta hurry!

Out of an outfit, if there’s one thing that gets me EXTREMELY excited, it’s the boots. I’ve always had a thing for boots! Boots & books fo life!

Alright, I was super happy how my eye shadow came out in this. Don’t judge! Looks great when the eyes are open too but I just thought it looked really cool in this shot!

I couldn’t find the shirt online but I got it from forever 21 recently. Here is a similar & here is another! Can’t beat those prices!

Boots on sale! They have quickly become one of my favorites.

This cardigan was sold out online so I bought this in store on sale at Banana Republic Factory! Go grab it! Here is one online I also like that would go great!

I hope you guys have a great night! IT’S ALMOST CHRISTMAS! I’m taking a small break from reading and I have lots of fun stuff planned so stay tuned! Maybe it’s time to let you read some of the fictional short stories I’ve written! …maybe. 🙂 Until next time!

Sincerely,

C

(For those of you wondering about dad, he’s doing okay. I’ve been contemplating writing a post just about that but I’ve been on the fence about it. I think I may later on. I’m sure other people are going through the same thing and I know it’d feel good for both of us to know that we aren’t alone. Stay tuned & thank you SOOO much for your prayers!)

Fall best dressed!

“The only thing getting “lit” this weekend is my fall scented candle!” (anon)

Hey ya’ll!

Wow. It has been a hot minute since I last posted.  Things got a little crazy with midterms and work and family and I won’t lie I’ve been buried in books, but I’m back! 🙂 AND IT’S FALL! Well, kinda.  It’s not insanely chilly over here but it’s also not 100 degrees so that’s a win to me!  Guys, fall is so exciting and I can’t wait for you to see some great autumnal things I’m putting together!  First, let’s start with this classic fall dress.

This dress is the perfect color for fall! I found it in the Banana Republic Factory store on sale! It was worth the wait. If you’re looking for a classy fall dress, THIS one is perfect, not to mention incredibly comfortable. I paired it with black heels and gold jewelry.

I can’t wait for it to get colder here in Texas!  Hot chocolate, fall candles, a fall blanket, a good book & BOOTS! Yeah, those remind me of fall. Pretty excited over here. It’s the little things. 🙂 Alright, have an amazing night! Talk to you soon.

Northern lights

“If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours.” Dolly Parton

Hey guys!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  We’re still melting over here in Texas.  This humidity is no joke. On the plus side, I heard it’s good for your skin but don’t quote me on that!

Alright, guess what. Fall is coming!!  Are you excited?  I read that the first day of autumn is September 22!  Here’s a random thought, do you say fall or autumn?  Just curious.  I say fall but I think I like the way Autumn sounds.  Autumn.  Anyway…

Now, I know this isn’t a fall dress but I couldn’t resist.  I debated whether to even talk about it but it’s just too pretty to not share, so here it is!  I give you, northern lights.

If I had my own clothing line, you could bet your bottom dollar it would have colorful things like this with magical names.  I can’t get over this name, “Northern lights.”  Gahh I love it! I’m just a sucker for things with fun names.  Alright, I hope you have an amazing week & I will talk to you very soon. Exciting things to come!

More poppin pjs!

“Smile at strangers & you just might change a life.” Steve Maraboli

Hi friends!

Today I’m reminiscing on my summer vacation in Arkansas.  [insert long sigh]  So, I just noticed that I’ve been on a fun, comfy pj pants kick.  I usually go for your typical oversized, soft T shirt and shorts, but for some reason I’m finding myself wanting fun sleepwear. Why? I have no idea. It could be a phase but I feel that with fall around the corner, this phase may only get worse!  Let’s just add fun pj pants to the list of things that make me smile.  It’s the little things ya’ll.

Walk it out

“Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.” Carl Sagan

Hey friend!

How’s your day been?  I’m a little bummed summer is over BUT, the good thing about that… is FALL!  Pretty excited for fall; college football season, fall colors, fall weather & BOOT SEASON!  Yes, I’m so ready for fall.  🙂  Don’t mind this boot lover over here.

One thing I love to do in the fall is go walking.  Yep, not jogging, but straight up, good old fashion walking.  I like doing it after a good work out or after a long day!  It let’s me take in my surroundings and really think about life.  I love it!  Throw on some headphones & play some good music! It’s so calm & relaxing, at least to me it is!

When I was in Arkansas, I took advantage of those steep hills & went walking with my mom and aunt almost every morning, walking & chatting away! <3

I wore an EXTREMELY comfortable outfit on this morning!
